Jack Johnson is an American folk-rock singer/songwriter, filmmaker and also surfer. He is mainly known for his soft rock and acoustic genre and in 2001 this was noted and he finally reached success with the album 'Brushfire Fairytales'. Since then, his popularity has increased and he has released 8 more albums, a vast number of EP's (Extended Play - longer than that of the single but shorter and not as notable as the studio LP - Long Play) and also surfer movies and soundtracks. He is also known for organising an annual event called The Kokua Festival \which is basically a music festival in Hawaii.
Since the age of five, Jack Johnson followed his fathers profession of being a surfer and made it to the Pipeline's final, but shortly after he suffered an injury that meant this couldn't continue. So he finished school and went to University and got a degree in Music and Film. This lead to his career in music and his first song 'Drink the Water' is supposed to be about the accident. He learnt to play the guitar at the age of eight and became a songwriter at twelve, but it wasn't until he started to play the rhythm for the band Soil (not the heavy metal band), that his passion grew intensely.
Sleep Through The Static - 2008
To The Sea - 2010
From Here To Now To You - 2013
His most notable songs and works from these albums are probably 'Better Together', 'Good People' and also 'Sitting Waiting Wishing'.
Here is Jack Johnson's official website.
The is a print screen of the official website that has four links leading to; New Events, Site, New Album and Videos. By entering the site it includes all new information and upcoming events that Jack Johnson is involved in, below is a screen shot. This tells me that he likes vibrant colours and animations, due to the drawings at the top which are also scribed over the album 'From Here To Now To You'. There is a major use of the colours blue and purple and this could be something I include.

Here is Jack Johnson's official Twitter page. On his twitter page he includes a lot of photographs of himself with friends or family but there aren't many personal posts which tells me that the site is more for entertainment of the fans and to keep them updated with any events that he will be involved in.
This includes similar things to Jack Johnson's official website but has more of his personality thrown in and also what he does everyday.

This includes all of his covers, music and live versions of his songs and also some information about upcoming events.
Back in 2010, Jack Johnson took part in an interview explaining about his bad dreams from performing and also the insecurity of the work in a studio. He says that peanut butter is different in dreams for everybody - meaning that everyone can interpret it in a way to give meaning personal to them. As well as this he talks about his doubts and everything that goes wrong when he's on stage.
In this video he explains the meanings behind some of his tracks, without giving too much away about his private life. He explains that some of the tracks are about love, others are about sad moments in his life, but he doesn't continue any further, telling me that he is quite a closed person when it comes to public relation. "What's the story behind 'Never Fade'?" is one of the questions he is asked and he explains that it is about the first time his wife entered a room and the way they looked at each other and also how their friendship developed from there. He also talks about his song 'Change' which was produced when he was collaborating with Ben Harper. The final thing he is asked is about what song on the album represents him the most - 'I Got You' because even when life is hard, its better when you have someone to share it with.
This has helped me to understand the artist as a person but has also told me his likes and dislikes, which is something I can include in my product as it will help me to decide what the typical audience will expect.
